Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I am Hari Hara Krishnan. I am from Tamil Nadu – India. I would like to share all the ideas in my mind with you (reading this blog). One more thing, ” I am not a geek in English Language. ” If you find any mistakes in the following article, please  excuse me.

First I would like to introduce some information about Indian Languages.

Before than we just discuss some information about Present India. Some people may ask, “what is going to be new that you are intend to say?” Of-course, I am not a man to say this at first. Many scholars in India had said this already. But I am a new one who share this information to a man or may be a lady or even a child or a student reading this blog now.

Well, we all are Indians. Proudly say, “ I N D I A N S “. The only thing we achieve is a self satisfaction which we can feel from our patriotic voice, not more than that.

Why? My answer is diversity among us. What are the diversities? For example Religion, Cast, Creed, Education, Food, Humanity and a lot. And also I would like to state a most important reason, which is the basic structure for a man. The Language. We can see diversity in our language too.

See, as I am a graduate I need to learn few more language such as English and Hindi. Basically, my mother-tongue is Tamil. Even though I ought to learn two other languages English & Hindi. In-case I got a job in Northern-India like Mumbai, Delhi etc. I should know Hindi for better communication. English is considered as a global language. So, I must have learn it, if I were going out of my Country. This is common to all the other people those who are living in other countries China, Japan etc. That doesn’t matter. It is inevitable, because of commerce.

And more over we must understand, that we doesn’t made these diversities in the languages. Historically it was made due to various rein of kings who ruled over India for a long period of year. That is inevitable.

Now look at the present stage, we are not in unity among us. When, Tamil people go to other state they can’t survive among the people those who lives there in the other states. Like wise, when Hindi people come to southern region of India, they too survive. I can see it in my daily life. They might face disrespect, shame, etc. etc.

The only problem which we have today is.., even as a Tamilian I won’t accept other languages as a National Language. And also, YOU! may be a Malayali, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi any other won’t accept other languages as a National Language other than your own mother-tongue. It is nature. No one is wrong in their opinion.

Let us analyze a short review about our Indian National Language.

Is there a National Language officially announced by our past Indian government so far 65 years after Independence?

Well come back to the point, I can present you some important note about the National Language which is stated as per in our Indian Constitution.

Indian Language

India specifies English and Hindi as official languages of the India de jure. Article 343 of the constitution specifies that the official language of India is Hindi in Devanagari script. Article 354 states that a state of India may officially adopt one or more languages in use in the state or Hindi/English as the language or languages to be used for all or any of the official purposes of that state.

Section 8 of The Official Languages Act of 1963 (as amended in 1967) empowers the Union Government to make rules regarding the languages which may be used for the Official purposes of the Union, for transaction of business in Parliament, and for communication between the Union Government and the states.

Section 3 of G.S.R. 1052, titled “Rules, 1976 (As Amended, 1987, 2007, 2011)” specifies that communications from a Central (Union) Government office to a State or a Union Territory in shall, save in exceptional cases (Region “A”) or shall ordinarily (Region “B”), be in Hindi, and if any communication is issued to any of them in English it shall be accompanied by a Hindi translation thereof. Section 3 of G.S.R. 1052, titled “Rules, 1976 (As Amended, 1987, 2007, 2011) states Communications from a Central Government office to State or Union Territory in Region “C” or to any office (not being a Central Government office) or person in such State shall be in English. Region C covers regions other than those referred in Regions “A” and “B”. Section 1 states that these rules shall extend to the whole of India, except the State of Tamil Nadu.

According to the above article, there is no National Language announced by the Indian Government so far.

No government is ready to give a fully acknowledged citizen ship or even an authority to be an Indian in our country. What a shame? I felt really sad about this.

Various cases for solving the Linguistic problem in India

I always think about the solution for this linguistic problem which prevails in India over a long period. Once I came to understand that, India is not a original country which was dependent to the English people who ruled us over 200 years. Our leaders Jawahar Lal Nehru ji, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhai Patel worked hard to unite India together to create a huge mass of freedom struggle among us.  There are many reasons behind that. Example, If we were not united at the time of freedom struggle we couldn’t move in a pointed way towards freedom. And also, after the freedom all the colonies were united to become India. If they didn’t do that, we will again loose our independence to some others like French or German etc. or even to the British again. Making India unitedly, It got a unity in strength so no more people can conquer India again. This should be appreciated by all of us.

But, the government who had took charge at the time of independence, failed to put plans for the development of Nation. They must divide India into fewer regions may be Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western even as a fifth one Central Territory to rule India. Instead of that, they divide us based on the languages that we spoke. There the Indian Constitution started to fail. There are a lot of secret movements happened after the freedom for making Indian Constitution. Past is Past. Leave all those. Nothing will be recollected with a peace full Gandhian way. It is too difficult for us to follow Non-Violence in India.

But we are Indians, we are the real King Makers of Indian Government. Can’t we do a better solution to unite India? We can, As we are diverse in the language basically, we need to become united in our basic social factor.
